Palomino’s beach is a long, untouched beach which is the perfect place to connect with all your senses, to live, feel and experience the Guajira nature right in front of the Caribbean Sea.

Palomino is a beautiful and cosy place, with different sights to visit. As we mention on our previous post ¿How to get to Palomino? Palomino has two rivers which flow from the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta, along with beautiful beaches and mouthiness terrain which offers numerous adventurous activities.

Also available in Palomino are different stores and restaurants that are located around the town. Everything is conveniently close so you can do everything by walking or you can hire a motorcycle-taxi service.

• Donaire’s beach

This is one of our favourites we highly recommend visiting this beach, to help you get there, we would suggest taking 6th street, this is the main road to the beach.

You will find all sort of hostels, restaurants and handcraft stores and artisans. At the end of the street you will see the Hotel Villa Delia Hotel Villa Delia, turn left and you will find a street that will take you to the beach.

• Finca Escondida Beach

To visit this beach, we would suggest taking 10th street. If you are a nature lover, you will love it. This beach is the favourite amongst surfers.

Surfing schools are available at this beach. This is our favourite beach in Palomino.

At this beach, we would recommend visiting Finca Escondida, Makao, Casa Coraje and La sirena as these are our favourites restaurants.

• Palomino’s River Beach

Where the rivers meet the ocean. You will need to go off to the main road to carrera 1a (which is the main street where the main park, police station and church are located). You will need to go down as far as the military base.

Along the road you will experience local flora and fauna Moto-taxi is available for approximately $3.000 COP.

Here is where the river meets the sea. You can enjoy a swim in the warm then a refreshing cool down in the cold river water, amazing! The river is beautiful, big, calm with crystal clear waters.

This is the best spot of Palomino’s beach and one of our favourites. For sunset lovers this is the best place to see it.

• San Salvador River Beach

This place is perfect for those who like to take long walks along the beach. To visit this beach, we would suggest you walk approximately an hour along the beach. This spot is covered with palm trees and local birds.

You can see the stunning mangroves on the river bank while walking we highly recommend bringing water. This is also a good spot to see the sunrise over the mountain of Sierra Nevada.
